When he was 19 years old, Kadek was training as an apprentice in a metalworking shop. As the tourism economy developed in Indonesia, many young people like him found work in artisan trades. At the time, his specialty was bronze cast candle stick holders. However, he soon met a traveling friend that changed his artwork forever.
After being introduced to geometric forms and their sacred meanings, he began learning about them and figuring out how to meticulously create them by hand. From the simple to the complex, nothing was too much to conquer. Now, 20 years later, Kadek has mastered his art and trained an entire workshop of craftsmen to create these intricate shapes and forms.
All of the pieces from Kadek's workshop are 100% hand made. Depending on the piece, a variety of techniques are used varying from bronze casting to individually soldering joints.
Currently, our collection features a range of 2D, 3D, and 4D geometric forms in bronze and brass.
